The community is officially closed for business on LiveJournal. We are not going to answer any posts in the queue as of this posting. Membership is locked down ; no one else can join/participate the community. We have elected to not turn off comments; if we did all the comments go away(yikes!). About three months ago, I purchased a custom Dragon design from someone on FA. The cost was only $5 and they were quick to start designing. In December, they started to get quite a bit distant and hardly uploaded to FA. I got a few designs from them and they kept adjusting with newer designs since I couldn’t get one I loved (except one which had one thing I wanted changed). The last time I had heard from them was December 20th. Since the design was only $5, I don’t really care about the money. However, this design was something personal to me. I don’t want to really use a design I didn’t give the full okay on but they aren’t responding to me anymore. They’ve seemed to drop entirely off the planet. As of now, 1/29/2019, they have given me four different designs. Would it be wrong for me to use any of these? I don’t know what to do. The next day, me and the person I’m rooming with went into the dealer’s den again just to look around and the artist noticed me and said the badge would get done by Sunday which I honestly was exacting based on the last I gotten. Skipping to the last day and about 30mins until the den was closed, I saw them nearly packed up and asked what’s going on with the badge. Artist said their laminator broke, would have to finish it at home and would put in a few stickers and/or buttons as compensation for the extra wait. In hindsight I should have just asked for it as is and could have it laminated myself. Little over a week later (August 19th.) the artist got in touch with me on telegram stating they been working like crazy since they got back from the con, didn’t think to much of it since my job was doing the same thing. Told me they would have it shipped out starting that Wednesday. Was able to get a hold of the artist on December 18th however things that where said didn’t line up with things mentioned at the con or what little was said on telegram along with the last I checked the school holiday break only lasted till the new year. At this point giving them five weeks to get the badge done when they said they could have it done by Sunday at the con, failing to ship it out the first time and should have said the badge got damaged when/if it happened. If I didn’t pay in cash I would have called my credit card company and forced a refund awhile ago. They are being archived. https://artistsbeware.info/ Commissioner beware: Loftyk9 Jan. 14th, 2019 at 5:59 PM artists_beware justcheezit WHO: Loftyk9 WHERE: Tumblr/Fur Affinity WHAT: 4 part sketch sequence/ mini comic WHEN: Nov. 16th 2018 - Jan. 6th 2019 EXPLAIN: I did a commission for Loftyk9 back in November 16th of 2018; of which hadn’t been paid for until January 6th of 2019. Initially they had an error with the payment due to an unstable connection,I had given them time to rectify this error as I had other clients drafts to handle. More hindrances came about, ranging from being in the hospital,handling holiday related expenses and once again running into more transaction errors when reminded of the invoice a month and a half after the commission had been completed. I will openly admit to having handled it poorly on my behalf by not enforcing my pay up front policy; however, having given them more than enough time to have the transaction handled, being promised it would be handled at the moment of being reminded,and finally being told of a similar transaction error or simply getting no response until asked again, their credibility has been damaged and I’m unable to say that they’re pleasant to do business with.
